PARK PLACE LOUNGE

Located in a prime spot in Newark NJ this hotel plays a big role in supplying housing to guests who fly in from around the world. Due to this, an aviation concept was very important for the clients as it would resonate with the guests and its surrounding location. Another aspect that was important to consider was the purpose and feeling it portrayed. The client wanted the guests to be able to have an extension of their rooms where they could relax before catching their flight at the nearby airport. Throughout the space, a mix of seating is applied to allow guests to freely use the space as they need while creating more intimate private areas. Within one of the seating areas, a statement fresco in high gloss is located above custom banquettes depicting flight scenery all around the world.  Within the ceiling of the lounge, an intricate lighting panel is an inset providing a star-like feel that truly transports you to another place. To create the desired moody feel, layered lighting of sconces, pendants, and uplighting are implemented. This is a space that feels effortless in effect because every design detail is purposeful and thoughtful in its execution.
