Clementina was conceived as a modern Italian dining experience rooted in tradition. Developed in collaboration with a chef originating from Italy who helped shape the concept, this Upper Montclair, NJ, restaurant design reflects a balance between old-world influence and contemporary sensibility.
White oak, textured plaster walls, and biophilic elements create a modern yet welcoming environment designed to encourage guests to linger. A dedicated chef’s table offers an intimate connection to the culinary process. In honoring the building’s history, existing brick and architectural bones were thoughtfully repurposed and celebrated. Newly introduced archways echo traditional Italian forms while paying homage to the original structure, seamlessly blending past and present.
