Situated in the heart of Manhattan’s financial district is this hustling and bustling lobby that we treated to an upscale and timeless remodel. We treated the entranceway to a dimensional wood ceiling, and we added mood and texture through the use of faux white onyx backlit wall panels; we then carried both elements to the custom-designed front desk area. We created a custom terrazzo graphic element that set the tone and anchored the space. Since we worked with the existing crema marfil marble walls, it gave the flooring the opportunity to take center stage through the use of a custom-designed dramatic graphic. We then updated the brass accents and elevator doors by ebonizing them in a black tone to pick up the floor design. Last but not least, we reworked the ceiling lighting layout and raised the ceiling, and we then created an elegant solution via a lighted soffit to solve the challenge of the marble wall stop point. The finished effect is both classic and sophisticated.
